Description:
The tzabu stands on two legs, and have 4 fingers on had hand, of which they have two. They also have ears that split to two points, with a thick "webbing" in a lighter shade than their skin. Tzabu also have a strong tail, which is about 1/3 longer than their legs. They have many different skin colours, almost all colours of the rainbow, while their hair colours star within the earthen tones. Their eyes have white sclera, with coloured irises.
In the event that a tzabu is born with magical powers, they will be born with five fingers, 3 points to their ears, and a ridge on their tail. A tzabu that learns magic, will not have these trait, but their children will be born with the traits.

Racial Magic:
-Like the other zabu, a tzabu can learn magic through study.
-Usually it's only the five fingered tzabu who are born with innate magical abilities.
-Gzabu will normally have powers that can manipulate and help fauna around them to grow. As an example, they can take seeds from one plant, and grow them, even without soil, by taking aether from around them and channeling it into the seed. It's also possible for them to use their own aether if they're in aether-poor areas. It's more that they ask the flora to grow, rather than command it.
-While not considered a magical being by the other zabu, the tzabu have a deep empathy for animals, making it easy for them to tame and keep animals by their side.
-All zabu can learn the All Tongue, a telepathic ability to translate others language into their own. They cannot speak the foreign language, but will send their voices, translated, into the mind of the foreigner. This is only done once up front, to establish if they are allowed to. If not, the zabu just won't communicate telepathically, and will resort to hand gestures and drawings to make communication. It is not a mind-reading ability. The foreigner's voice is just translated magically as they speak to the zabu.

Earthly Domain:
The tzabu live on Zabunux, the earthly plain. But like with all zabu, they can enter trance-like states in order to let their souls temporarily travel to Zarajeer, the spirit realm.
Areas they frequent:
Tzabu exist on the eastern and western continents, though they tend to avoid the southern, as it's much colder in climate and suit the other zabu better. Out of the three, tzabu are the ones who build cities on the plains, in the forests, and in some mountain regions where it's not too steep to walk. They welcome azabu and mazabu into their cities, but rarely if never visit their cities. Tzabu have ships that they use to cross the oceans. There's strict rules for sailing too close to mazabu colonies since no one wants to accidentally hit adolescent individuals.

Society:
Tzabu, out of the three, have the most pomp to their culture. They practice traditions, writing, dancing, crafting, and gladly teach this other zabu when requested. Tzabu are also the only zabu to wear clothes as a usual part of their day. Despite this, they are not bothered if the other zabu hang out without clothes. Tzabu will only provide clothing to the other zabu if they wish to try out the tzabu fashions, modified to accommodate their features.
The large buildings, castles, fortresses, etc, built by tzabu stand as monuments of their endurance to express themselves, and also protect what they treasure. There are some ruined cities, from wars long gone, where all zabu avoid building, out of respect.
The tzabu used to have social hierarchy, though after the dawn of the Era of Nenua, most were dismissed and people were not allowed to look down on one professions, or exalt another. Domestic servants for example are highly appreciated for the hard work they do, and are only allowed to work in shifts.
Titles only exist for certain families, for the members who have earned their either by becoming legends after death, or while they were living legends. You can find existing titles until the zabu - Culture tab.
Birth:
When a tzabu child is born, there is a great celebration, most of town will decorate and celebrate the arrival. Flowers chains in the warmer territories, and paper flower chains in the colder territories, all to bring a bit of colour and festivity to the occasion. The child will be named days after their arrival.
Coming of age:
When an tzabu becomes 18, they'll be considered adults, and allowed to leave home and establish their own.
The ceremony itself includes an elaborate party, overseen by the resident Gzabu, with the attendees singing and performing rehearsed dances.
Many choose to live at home until they find a mate. It is between the ages ten and eighteen that most zabu find what gender they are, and mature into that form. Some also choose to present as one of the sexes, but keep their gender identity as fluid or agender. Some find their identities later in life, and their bodies will gradually change to reflect this, over a matter of weeks.
Marriage:
This goes for all zabu. When they find someone which whom they want to spend their time with, perhaps even their full lives, they move in together. Some have celebrations to mark the occasion, while others just move together quietly. It all depends on the person. Some young couples might seek the blessing of their elders, for help to fund their new home.
Burial:
When zabu pass away, their bodies are left behind, while their souls return to Zarajeer. There is no ceremony, just a quiet burning. Zabu do not mourn the dead, but mark the passing. For they can travel to Zarajeer and see the departed there, until the soul is ready to reincarnate and enter a new body.
For historical persons there are buildings where statues of the zabu is erected in memory of them. Normally reserved for heroes or great benevolent rulers.
Alliance:
Tzabu will seek alliances with any of the other zabu, in trying times. They will also come to the aid of others, be it in the air, or in the oceans. They just not excellent swimmers, nor can they fly...
Religion:
Tzabu build great temples and very visibly worship the Zaevende, the Core, and the Liva Aonde. They also have the most elaborate rituals for worship, with dance, song, offerings, and creating buildings that carry motifs of the aforementioned. Songs are performed at several times per day. More on this in Culture.
Reproduction:
No zabu have genitalia. They have a opening in the rear, with a strong muscle that allows for urination and defecation.
Instead, the zabu gestate the souls of their children, inside their own. This allows for either one, or more parents to carry souls.
Females have breasts, as a gender indicator, but babies don't actually need to breastfeed. Zabu parents can be same sex couples, not-same sex couples, and single parents.
Zabu normally only have one child per mating, but twins can happen. The soul will remain inside the soul of the parent until the parent is ready to release it, which is when the soul will have a body form around it. It's magical soul sex, did you think the birth would make more sense?
As one might guess, they don't have sex the usual way, but consciously or unconsciously send out emotions towards the person of their affection. Normally only after the match is mutual. This manifests as a warm feeling that can become overwhelming to other species. Once within arms reach, and both are in the same emotional range, threads of light will begin to spin around the two, forming a cocoon. This event can be cancelled, by moving your hand to "cut" the strings. They'll then dissipate.
If not interrupted, the cocoon will fully form around the individuals, and remain for some time, max 1 hour. Please note, this is the result if the method of love. The second method does not involve emotions.
For reproduction, zabu have two choices.
- Reproduction using love: They can have children by sharing the emotion of love between one another. This love does not have to be romantic, but the zabu involved must have a form of love for each other. It can also be platonic love. This method will produce a child from a soul resting inside one of the parents. This way also allows for a single zabu to have a child, provided they can produce enough emotion on their own.
- Reproduction using power: This method can not performed single-handedly.
Two zabu, or more, will come together around a cradle, and draw part of their power out, and fuse it together to make a child. The child takes the form of a large egg, which needs to incubate for at least two months, if not more.
Skin colours are often passed down, but its a 50/50 chance of which parent they get it from, and the shade of colour might vary darker or lighter. Skin can also become darker as the zabu grows older. The skin tones are desaturated for most of the time. And strong bright colours are a bit strange on zabu. There are no rare skin tones, but since some zabu just have more babies.
Tzabu do not have patterns on their skin. Their skin is one uniform colour, except for inside the ears, and perhaps some freckles, which appear a shade lighter than their own skin.
Skin tones are as follows, with the more commonly seen at the top:
- Green
-Light green
- Blue
- Light blue
- Grey
- Light grey
- Red
- Light red
- Orange
- Rust red
- Purple

Hair colours are of the earthen tones. None of these are rare, but some appear more than others, due to the same as with the skin tones. Tzabu do not have the same range of hair colours as the Azabu, regardless of if one of the parents is an Azabu.
Hair colours are as follows, with the most commonly seen at the top:
-Brown
- Light brown
- Blonde
- Light blonde
- Red
- Dark red
- Black
- Grey
- White
Hair types also vary, with some curly, others straight. None of these are rare:
- Straight
- Wavy

- Natural/kinky
Eye colours are also of a smaller pallette than the skin tone palette. None of these are rare:
- Brown
- Blue
- Green
- Grey
- Lilac
- Black
Breed gene:
Zabu can pass down their breed to their child. In the case of zabu couples, not of the same type, the child has a literal 50% chance of being born as either. They do not gain partial traits from both parents.
Dalduro born:
If a child is born under the month of Dalduro, the full darkness month, then they will not inherit any colour traits from their parents. The child will be mostly black with some spots of grey, either in the face or on the chest. Their eyes will have black sclera and grey iris and pupil.
Dalduro gene:
If a parent, or close ancestor, was born under the Dalduro month, then there is a chance the child(NOT born during the Daduro month) will be born with the black and grey colour scheme. But their eyes will be coloured, and not the dalduro full black sclera with grey iris.

Naming traditions:
All zabu have unisex names, because they do not have a gender until they reach puberty, if they chose one at all.
The full name is often something to describe the person. The first part tends to be a emotional descriptor, the latter part is a common noun. When a zabu picks two emotions for the name, then they bend to accommodate this. Same with if they pick two of the latter column below.
Example:
Sjenrenzou means "Pensive Remorseful Path."
Zabu tend to keep names given to them by their parents, even if it ends up not suiting them. Sometimes the zabu might split their names, for cultural reasons. This depends on their tribe and how they structure names.
Cliff-folk azabu tribes tend to split their names up.
Plains-folk azabu tribes tend to fuse the names.
Tzabu tend to fuse names, no matter where they hail from.
Northern underwater mazabu tribes tend to only use the emotional descriptor, and drop the latter part.
Southern underwater mazabu tribes tend to use full names.
But exceptions can happen.
Last names are structured that children normally take the name of their parent of same sex. There are of course exceptions, like if one parent is agender, the child can chose this parent's name if they wish. The last name will be paired with a suffix that presents the zabu's preferred gender.
The suffix for the different genders are:
Female: shene
Male: slene
Agender: sfene
Example:
Frore is the daughter of Ipana, who identifies as agender.
"Frore Ipanashene."
Example: Gelm is the son of Uande, who identifies as agender:
"Gelm Uandeslene."
Example: Riiner a child, therefor agender until puberty. Their mother, and only parent, is Hrinau who identifies as a woman.
"Riiner Hrinausfene."
Nicknames:
Some zabu give nicknames to their children, and this nickname can be used affectionately by other family and lovers.
Usually this is the first syllable of the name, and then a suffix based on the zabu's prefered pronoun.
Female: jia
Male: jie
Agender: jiu

Zabu
Invented by Lo Huan, who is also credited for the calendar. It was later amended by Rerenskar, a ancestor to Hachid. Zabu also practice calligraphy as a recreational hobby, and poems written in a more cursive style is not uncommon. When Nenua came to control the old rejuvenated libraries of Hriani, she reinstalled the script and standardized it for use in the libraries. All zabu use this script, azabu, mazabu, and tzabu. This script is meant to be written with a brush and ink, or a pen with ink. It's written vertically, as presented in the guide. It's common to stretch the character at the end of the word if it's single, for aesthetic reasons. |
